Biography:

Seyni Awa Camara, also known as Seni Camara, is a Senegalese sculptor and potter born in Bignona around 1945. She is known for her ceramic sculptures, often depicting human and animal figures, which she creates and fires in her front yard before displaying them around her house. Her work is part of the Contemporary African Art Collection (CAAC) of Jean Pigozzi and has been exhibited in Europe and the United States. She has also been the subject of a documentary film by Philip Haas.
