He obtained his First School Leaving Certificate in 1950 at Amichi and later attended the Dennis Memorial Grammar School, Onitsha from 1951-1955. After completing his education, he proceeded to St Marks’ Teachers Training College from 1956–1957, followed by a short teaching career.
He graduated from the University of London in 1961 with a degree in Estate Management and Land Economy. Simon Nsobundu Okeke began his early career as a class teacher at Union Secondary School, Awkunanaw, Enugu. Upon his graduation, he joined the real estate business and later became a part of the Nigerian public service.
