Biography:
Hamilton Sutton Smith was an American artist born in Boston, Massachusetts in 1857. He was the third of six children and only son of John J. and Georgianna Smith. Smith was educated as a lawyer and a dentist and followed a career in photography. He was known for his photographs of Washington, D.C. and its landmarks, including the Paul Revere House. Smith passed away in Cambridge, Massachusetts in 1924.
