Biography:

Sonya Lee Barrington is a craftsperson who uses the medium of the quilt to create high-end, functional and/or decorative items. She is known for her fabulous hand dyed fabrics and her use of silk and wool in her quilts. She also creates 'Materials Reimagined: Recycled, Reused, Repurposed and Zero Waste' products. Barrington has been working with fiber for 44 years and has used a variety of materials, including repurposed wool and silk. She has also shared her techniques and knowledge with others through classes and workshops. Barrington has exhibited her work in galleries and museums and has received recognition and awards for her contributions to the field of fiber art. She continues to create and inspire others with her unique and innovative approach to quilting and fiber art.
