Biography:
Su Gaoli is a Chinese oil painter and art educator. He was born in 1937 in Pingding, China. Su Gaoli studied at the Central Academy of Fine Arts (CAFA) and later went to the Soviet Union for further training. He has taught at CAFA for decades and has been a professor there. His specialty is oil painting, and he has created many pieces with outstanding art features and pursuits. Su Gaoli's work reflects nature, understanding life, and experiencing the value of life. He has gone into nature and practiced the art of his time, with his painful and sincere soul, concerned about the changes of the world, transformation of the times, and thoughts on labor, while expressing his sincere feelings of humanity. Su Gaoli is one of the first generation of artists fostered during the early founding of the People's Republic of China.
