Biography:
Susan Norrie is an Australian artist born in Sydney in 1953. She is known for her work with found film and original video installations, exploring political and environmental issues. In 2007, she represented Australia at the 52nd Venice Biennale. Norrie studied painting at the National Art School in Sydney and the National Gallery School in Melbourne. She began her career as a painter, but her work evolved towards text-based paintings and eventually to film and video installations. In 1999, she received an Australia Council Fellowship. Norrie's video work often deals with social, political, and environmental issues, and she has received international recognition for her contributions to contemporary art.
