Biography:

Takanobu Kobayashi is a renowned contemporary painter born in Tokyo, Japan, in 1960. He graduated from the Aichi Prefectural University of Fine Arts in 1986 and has since become one of the most influential Japanese painters. Kobayashi is known for his serene and atmospheric landscapes, often featuring specific themes. In 1996, he received the VOCA Encouragement Prize and was granted the opportunity to stay in Bangkok, Thailand, by the Agency of Cultural Affairs, Japan. In 1998, he stayed in Lot-et-Garonne, France, for a year. His work has been exhibited in numerous solo and group exhibitions in Japan and internationally.
