Biography:

Tanya Habjouqa is an American-Jordanian photojournalist, documentary photographer, and educator. She was born in Amman, Jordan in 1975 and is known for her work in the Middle East. Habjouqa is a laureate of the World Press Photo Award in 2014. Her practice combines social documentary, collaborative portraiture, and participant observation. She is a member of the NOOR photo agency and the Rawiya collective. Habjouqa holds a master's degree in Global Media from the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS), London.
