Biography:
Tana Schembori is a Paraguayan artist born in Asunción in 1978. She is best known for her work as a film director and producer, alongside her partner Juan Carlos Maneglia. Together they have co-directed several short films, telefilms, and television series, as well as two feature films: 7 Boxes and The Gold Seekers. 7 Boxes was released in 2012 and received critical acclaim, breaking box office records in Paraguayan cinemas. The film won the 'Films in Progress' award at the San Sebastian International Film Festival in Spain. The Gold Seekers was released in 2017 and was selected as the Paraguayan entry for the Best Foreign Language Film at the 90th Academy Awards. In addition to her work in film, Schembori is also a visual artist and has exhibited her work in galleries. She continues to work and reside in Paraguay.
