Biography:

Tiago Francez, known as The Empty Belly, is a Portuguese painter and neo-muralist. He was born in Lisbon, Portugal in 1990. Growing up, he was influenced by his family, particularly his father who was a director of a digital printing company surrounded by illustrators and designers. Initially interested in architecture, Tiago turned to image construction and studied communication at the Beaux-Arts de Lisbonne. However, he later shifted his focus to painting and engraving. The economic crisis led him to leave his hometown and country, and he settled in London. Since 2012, he has been a prolific neo-muralist, exploring the mystery of life through his works. His art questions, challenges, and evokes emotions in the viewer. With 'Achille', his first solo exhibition, Tiago presented a fundamental reflection based on the story of this hero from Greek mythology. Through his work, he represents humanity, highlighting its paradoxical nature, fragility, and strength.
