L'Orchestre National 'A' de la République du Mali was a Malian musical group founded by the government of Mali in the wake of the country's independence from France as a way to promote and preserve traditional Malian music. The orchestra was inspired by Sékou Touré, who implemented a radical cultural policy that included the formation of state-sponsored regional and national orchestras.
