Biography:

Timothy Cole was an English-born American artist who specialized in printmaking. He was born in London in 1852 and died in Poughkeepsie, New York in 1931. Cole is best known for his wood engravings, which were highly regarded for their technical skill and artistic merit. He was a member of the National Academy of Design and the American Watercolor Society, and his work is held in collections at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the British Museum, and the Library of Congress, among other institutions.
