Biography:

Tong Yu, also known as Tong Bing Yu, was a Chinese artist born in Shanyin, now Shaoxing, in 1721. He was known for his poetry and his skills as a flower and bird painter, particularly in depicting plum blossoms. Tong Yu won fame during his lifetime and his work is still celebrated today. He passed away in 1782.
