Biography:
Tosa Mitsusada was a Japanese artist who was born in Sakai, Japan in 1738. He was a dedicated practitioner of the Tosa traditions and managed to effect a temporary Tosa revival. He is best known for his illustrated handscrolls and his work on the Tale of Genji. He died in Japan in 1806.
