Biography:

Troy Michie is an American interdisciplinary painter and collage artist. He was born in El Paso, Texas in 1985. He received a BFA from the University of Texas at El Paso in 2009 and an MFA from the Yale School of Art in Painting/Printmaking in 2011. Michie's work often deals with themes of blackness, queerness, and sexuality. His first solo exhibition, 'Fat Cat Came To Play', was held in 2017 at Company Gallery in New York. He has also exhibited at the New Museum, Studio Museum in Harlem, and the California African American Museum.
