Biography:

Udomsak Krisanamis is a Thai contemporary artist known for his unique collage technique. Born in Bangkok, Thailand in 1966, he has been a prominent figure in the Thai and international art scene for over three decades. His practice involves creating obsessive patterns using everyday objects and found materials such as newsprints, cartons, noodles, maps, and paint. Krisanamis' earlier works feature densely layered grids depicting cityscapes, starscapes, or digital scapes. In recent years, his work has evolved to include bold and conceptual statements with bright monochrome colors and striking patterns. He has also incorporated unconventional found objects like pingpong tables into unique installations. Krisanamis has had several solo exhibitions, including a retrospective titled 'Re-Presentation: Redux' at the Bangkok University Gallery in 2019 and another retrospective curated by Rirkrit Tiravanija at the CMU Art Center in Chiangmai in 2016. His work has been included in various group exhibitions such as SUNSHOWER: Contemporary Art from Southeast Asia at the Mori Art Museum in Tokyo in 2017 and Greater New York at P.S.1 in Long Island City, NY in 2000.
