Utagawa Kunisato was a Japanese artist who specialized in ukiyo-e woodblock prints. He is known for his depictions of landscapes and scenes from everyday life. Born in Edo (now Tokyo) in 1823, he studied under the renowned Utagawa school master Toyokuni III. Kunisato's work was highly regarded during his lifetime and continues to be admired today.
