Biography:

Uttam Chitrakar, also known as Uttam Joshi, is an Indian artist born in 1991 in Pingla, India. He is a very ambitious young Patua who started learning the art form at the age of twelve, inspired by the leading Patachitra artist Anwar Chitrakar. His work has been featured by Ojas Art Gallery and he is known for his unique style of Patachitra, a traditional Bengali scroll painting. Uttam Chitrakar is also a member of the Bagmati Provincial Assembly and serves as the Minister for Health of Bagmati Province.
