Biography:

Valsan Koorma Kolleri is an Indian sculptor, born in Pattiam, Kerala in 1953. He studied at the École nationale supérieure des Beaux-Arts, Paris (1985-86), the Faculty of Fine Art, Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda (1976-79) and the Government College of Fine Arts, Chennai (1971-76). Kolleri has had numerous solo exhibitions, including 'New Clearage: Retrospective as Artwork' at Talwar Gallery, New York (2007), 'Retrospective as Artwork' at Colab Gallery, Bangalore (2005), and 'Retrospective as Artwork' at B.Q. Gallery, Koln, Germany (2005). He has also participated in group exhibitions, such as 'Kochi Muziris Biennale 2012'. Kolleri's work has been featured in various publications, including 'Valsan Koorma Kolleri .Works.Profile.Interview' and 'Press Release -VALSAN KOORMA KOLLERI-NEWCLEARAGE: Retrospective as Artwork'. He has received several awards and recognitions for his contributions to the art world, including the Sahitya Akademi Golden Jubilee Award and the Sahitya Akademi Prize for Translation.
