Biography:

Vanina Bujalter is a second generation award-winning weaver based in Buenos Aires, Argentina. She started learning weaving at the age of fifteen from her mother, Mimi Bujalter, one of the outstanding artists within the Argentine Textile Art Movement and Founder of the Argentine Centre. Her work has been recognized by UNESCO, museums and jewelry competitions in Argentina and South America, and is part of museum and private collections. She has taught and exhibited throughout Argentina and internationally, and her work has won many awards, including the UNESCO Seal of Excellence. Her weavings are in urban handicraft, using high loom, flat cloth and twill techniques with various materials such as cotton, wool and acrylic fiber. She has received Textile Acquisition Award at the 4th Craft Biennial in Buenos Aires in 2011 and Acquisition Award at the 1st Craft Biennial in Buenos Aires in 2005.
