Biography:
Vasilii Grigorievich Perov was a Russian realist painter, who was born in Tobolsk, Russia in 1834. He was one of the founding members of the Peredvizhniki movement, a group of realist painters who sought to bring art to the people and depict everyday life in Russia. Perov's paintings often depicted the harsh realities of life in Russia, and he was known for his unflinching portrayal of the struggles of the common people. He died in Moscow in 1882.
