Biography:
Victor Sen Young, also known as Yung Ho-yin, was an American character actor born in San Francisco, California in 1915. He is best known for his role as Jimmy Chan in the Charlie Chan films and as Hop Sing in the western series Bonanza. Young was born to Gum Yung Sen and his first wife, both immigrants from China. After his mother's death in 1919, he and his younger sister were placed in a children's shelter. His father returned to China and remarried, forming a new household with his two children upon his return in 1922. Young passed away in 1980, with his body discovered on November 9th.
