Wang Keping is a Chinese artist born in Beijing in 1950. He is a member of the Stars Art Group, a Chinese avant-garde group of non-professional artists in the late 1970s and early 1980s. He is known for his sculptures made of wood, which often depict human figures and are characterized by their simplicity and expressiveness. Wang Keping is considered one of the most important figures of the Chinese avant-garde movement. He currently lives and works in Beijing.
