Zhao Weiwei, also known as Weiwei Zhao, is a Chinese actress, businesswoman, film director, producer, and pop singer. She was born on March 12, 1976, in Wuhan, China. Zhao is considered one of the most popular actresses in China and Chinese-speaking regions, and one of the highest paid actresses as well. She has received her PhD degree from the Wolfson School of Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering, Loughborough University in 2014. She has worked as an associate professor at Wuhan University of Technology for seven years before. She is also a Senior Research Fellow at the University of Birmingham. She has published several articles in the field of mechanical property development on functional hydrogel composites for biomedical and industrial applications.
