Werner Segarra

Biography:

Werner Segarra is a Puerto Rican fine art photographer of German descent. He has been a professional photographer for over thirty years and has participated in numerous group and individual exhibitions in various international galleries and museums. His work is a testament to the transformative power of personal experience, which he cultivated through his experiences living in various countries during his formative years. Segarra's most significant encounter and inspiration was as an exchange student in northern Mexico, where he immersed himself in the Mexican vaquero (cowboy) world. This experience captivated and motivated him to share his love and respect for this culture with the rest of the world through his photography. His project 'Vaqueros de la Cruz del Diablo' brings together 20 years of images of a small rural town in the heart of Mexico, showcasing the traditional way of life for the vaqueros, including their families, religious customs, culture, work, cuisine, architecture, and rugged environment.
