Biography:

Wong Kan Tai is a Hong Kongese photographer, born in 1957 in Lantau, Hong Kong. He started his career as a photojournalist in the late 1970s and studied photography in Tokyo, Japan, in the early 1980s. He is known for his documentary photography and his favorite subjects are people and the environment. He has published several photography collections, including '89 Tiananmen, Hong Kong Walled City 2002–2007, Vajrayana, The Queen's, Fukushima, Xinjiang 1980, Bardo Hong Kong 2019, and Diana Hong Kong 2014. He stayed in London from 1999 to 2005 and published photography journal Mahjong with his friends in 2009. Wong’s photographs are taken using a plastic toy camera produced by a Hong Kong manufacturer.
