Workshop Of Gaspard Dughet

Biography:

The Workshop of Gaspard Dughet was a group of artists who worked under the guidance and direction of Gaspard Dughet, an influential landscape painter from the Baroque period. Born on June 15, 1615 in Rome to French parents, Dughet became known for his topographic views of the Roman Campagna. He was trained by Nicolas Poussin, who later married his sister Anne-Marie. As a result, Gaspard adopted the name 'Gaspard Poussin.' The workshop produced numerous landscape paintings and frescoes depicting various sites around Rome, including works for the Colonna Palace and Palazzo Pamphilj in Valmontone.
