Biography:
The Workshop of Guido Durandino, also known as Guido Fontana, was established in Urbino by 1519. Durandino was a central figure in the history of Urbino ceramics, and his workshop was one of the most prolific in the region. He was known for producing maiolica (tin-glazed earthenware) pieces, and his works often featured intricate designs and scenes from mythology and history. Durandino's workshop employed some of the best istoriato painters available, and his son Orazio was also involved in the business. Durandino died around 1576, but his workshop continued to produce high-quality ceramics for many years after his death.
