Biography:

Wu Tien-chang is a Taiwanese visual artist born in 1956 in Changhua, Taiwan. He is known for his socio-political commentary work through oil painting and digital photography. Wu Tien-chang experienced first hand Taiwan’s transition from authoritarian rule to democracy after martial law was lifted in 1987. His parents worked in a movie theater where his father painted posters and his mother sold tickets. Wu’s work reveals the contradictions of the society in which he lives.
