Biography:
Yao Tingmei, also known as Yao Yanqing (Tingmei), was a Chinese landscape painter during the Yuan Dynasty (1271–1368). He was a native of Wuxing in Zhejiang Province and followed in the footsteps of his fellow townsmen Zhao Mengfu (1254–1322) and Tang Di (1287–1355) in adopting the landscape idiom of Li Cheng. He is best known for his work 'Traveling through Snow-Covered Mountains'.
