Biography:

Tomotaka Yasui is a Japanese artist born in Antwerp, Belgium in 1974. He studied at Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music and was an artist-in-residence at The Jerusalem Center For The Visual Arts in Jerusalem, Israel in 2006. Yasui's signature works are sculptures that explore the relationship between light and shadow. He is known for his use of materials such as wood, lacquer, and resin to create intricate and detailed sculptures that often depict human figures. Yasui's work has been exhibited in galleries and museums around the world, including The Hakone Open-Air Museum in Japan and The Japan Times. He currently lives and works in Tokyo.
