Biography:

Yoan Capote is a Cuban sculptor born in 1977 in Pinar del Río. He received the UNESCO prize during the 7th Havana Biennial with the artists' collective DUPP (Desde Una Pragmática Pedagógica). He studied arts at the Superior Institute of Art in Havana from 1991 to 1995, where he specialized in painting, but he finally focused on sculpture. His work has been exhibited in galleries and museums around the world, including the Jack Shainman Gallery in New York and the Galleria Continua in San Gimignano, Italy.
