Biography:

Yulian Ivanovich Tissen was a Russian artist born in Odessa, Ukraine in 1866. He was known for his portraits and landscapes, and worked in various mediums including drawing, watercolor, and oil. Tissen received his artistic education at the Odessa School of Art and later at the Imperial Academy of Arts in Saint Petersburg. He exhibited his works in Russia and abroad, and was a member of several artistic associations. Tissen died in 1951.
