Yury Shtapakov is a Russian artist, born in 1958 in St. Petersburg. He is known for his engravings and illustrations of the works of Robert Tolkien, Boris Vian, and Daniil Charms. He is also a painter, working with metal objects. His works can be found in the permanent collection of the Erarta Museum of Contemporary Art. He launched his professional career as an architect and graphic designer upon graduation. Yury Shtapakov is also known for his paintings on metal objects, inspired by the novel 'L'écume des jours'.
