Biography:

Zahari Tsanyuv was a Bulgarian icon painter and representative of the prominent Zahariev family of artists. He left a significant trace both in the artistic heritage and public life of Tryavna during the National Revival period. Born in 1811, he worked with his father, also an icon painter, before establishing himself as one of the most productive members of the Zahariev family. Tsanyuv's works are characterized by their use of tempera on wood and adherence to traditional iconography techniques.
