Biography:
Zhang Anzhi was a renowned Chinese painter and Olympian who competed in the art competitions at the 1948 Summer Olympics in London. Born in 1911, Zhang Anzhi graduated from Nanjing Central University in 1931, under the guidance of Xu Beihong and later Lü Fengzi. He continued his studies in 1946 at the University of London.
Zhang Anzhi's artwork is known for its unique style and technique in oil on canvas. As a painter, he was part of the painting event in the art competition at the 1948 Summer Olympics. After his participation in the Olympics, Zhang Anzhi was admitted as professor and taught at the Central Academy of Fine Arts in Beijing.
A year after his death in 1991, a book titled A History of Chinese Painting was published in 1992. This publication showcases Zhang Anzhi's contribution to the world of Chinese painting.
