This evening gown, with its fashionably high waist, combines a multi-layered petticoat of rose coloured silk satin and cream coloured silk voile with a sleeveless overdress of cream coloured silk satin. Short sleeves of beige tulle lace with a delicate circle decoration are attached to the voile dress. This lace was also used in the neckline and as a double valance trim for the skirt. Around that lies the overlapping overdress that is knee-length in front and becomes longer in a gentle course. The point where the two parts meet is marked by a rose coloured satin ribbon that ends in a bow and an identical silk satin ribbon emphasizes the waist. The sleeve hemline and shoulder seam are covered with rhinestone ribbon. The dress closes in the back with a hook and eye closure that reaches from the low neckline to the buttocks. This dress was previously owned by actress Ruth Draper (1884-1957), famous for her presentation of self-written character sketches.
