Paolo Cotani (1940-2011) attended the Academy of Decorative Arts in Paris and moved to London in 1964, returning to Rome in 1970. His painting is anti-iconic, made of layers of color, and embraces an abstract style that focuses on the analysis of the syntactic tools of painting.
